This was my first and until just recently, the only self portrait that I had done. I used brown pastel pencil on drawing paper. My friend is Noah, our white dove, who by the way, lived more than 20 years. He passed away in his sleep in the early summer of 2010. He loved to sit on my shoulder while I am painting or working at the computer. He had a laugh and coo, though loud in my ear, was heartening to my soul.
